Analytical Chemist

Metabonet is a science-driven analytical company based in Riga, Latvia, specializing in metabolomics and small-molecule analysis. We provide end-to-end support, guiding our customers from experimental planning to high-quality analytical results.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Analytical Chemist to contribute to the development, optimization, and execution of advanced metabolomics workflows. In this role, you will support both fundamental and applied research projects through sample preparation, chromatographic and mass spectrometric analyses, method development, and the generation of high-quality analytical data.
Key Responsibilities
Perform sample preparation and LC-MS/GC-MS analyses.
Optimize and develop LC-MS/GC-MS methods for the analysis of small molecules in biological samples.
Ensure the readiness of LC-MS and GC-MS systems and troubleshoot analytical issues.
Evaluate, interpret, and document results according to laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
Plan, organize, and manage scientific projects to meet timelines and quality expectations.
Contribute to new method development for metabolomics and small-molecule studies.
Required Qualifications (Essential)
Higher education in natural sciences (chemistry, biology, medicine, or related fields).
Experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory.
Hands-on experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS and/or GC-MS).
Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
Fluency in English; Latvian is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of project management methods and tools.
Familiarity with metabolomics or analysis of complex biological samples.
